Prayer Beads, or Rudraksha, is a seed that is used to chant prayers in Hinduism. The seeds are associated with the Hindu Lord Shiva and are commonly worn for protection and for chanting mantras such as ‘Om Namah Shiva’. The seeds are primarily sourced from India, Indonesia and Nepal for Jewellery and Malas; they are valued similarly to semi-precious stones. Various meanings and interpretations are attributed to the beads and they remain highly prized and valuable.

As a design, Elephants are a traditional symbol of power and peace in Thailand, as well as a spiritual mentor for people of all walks of life. The elephant also symbolizes wisdom and loyalty and various other characteristics such as sensitivity, stability, intelligence, and determination. Mother of Pearl is the common name for a nacre coating, it is strong, resilient, and iridescent. The main commercial sources of mother of pearl started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it is also used to decorate watches, knives and guns and in the hands of Lotus Arts de Vivre, into Jewelry.

After sourcing the precious beads, this piece took 1 month to finish with over 7 craftsmen and designers involved at various stages.
