Bamboo Bowl with Silver

Lotus Arts de Vivre combines the organic shape of the bamboo and the root, and then skilled artisans carve them into pieces of decor and design. These labour intensive pieces are one of a kind works of art (no two pieces are similar) that have been put together by skilled craftsmen who have preserved the knowledge of traditional craft techniques.

Bamboo was in widespread use in early China as a medium for written documents. The earliest surviving examples of such documents, written in ink on string-bound bundles of bamboo strips date from the 5th Century BC during the Warring States period. Bamboo's long life makes it a Chinese symbol of uprightness, while in India it is a symbol of friendship.
